Did I ever mention that I have this fascination for antiques and history?

Recently I've started reading this book, some compilation of short novels from long-ago-dead writers. Probably the oldest book I have. :)

Some logo on the cover. No matter how I try, I can't really make out the symbolism of it. Can you?

I like the way old books were packed. Hard cover, some lined with cloth (like this one) and the usage of brown paper for its pages. It just has this certain mystery to it. Makes me wonder, "in the many years it's been hand down,.. who held it? Did it mean anything? How did they live their life?" And the questions in my mind just goes on and on.
If I had a chance, my real ambition (since I was really young) would be an Archeologiest. I have a passion for studying about people of the past. What caused their victory, what caused their downfall, what happened to great cities such as those made by the Incas and what happened to them. Why did some cities just disappear? Well, basically the history of the world. When I was in secondary school I always felt that our "Sejarah" subject was not enough. It was too shallow. We were only learning about Malaysia and all those base stuff. It was way too easy. What about India? China? Egypt? Rome? All those countries with great people we should know about. Why can't the Malaysian Government put those IMPORTANT stuff in the books? They shouldn't allow students to be "
katak di bawah tempurung" (I can still use
peribahasa!!) because there's so much to learn out there.
Other than that, I'm always always curious about legends from around the world such as Atlantis, El Dorado, The Bermuda Triangle, the existence of Mermaids..yadda yadda. There's too many.
Sounds so
nerdy eh? Well I am, and always will be.
I used to be the girl who stuck her face in a thick book all the time. I could go on days reading a book at home. haha. If I'm not mistaken, I've read almost all the fiction books in my school library. My friend Samantha who used to sit beside me in secondary school should know.
Did you know that books are actually better than movies? That's because it actually stimulates your mind to imagine. There are times when movies came out according to the book which really disappoints me because in my mind everything was so and so but in the movie there isn't enough of that "oomph" like how I imagined it to be. Sometimes I wish I was the director instead. *laughs* Plus, they tend to CUT the parts alot.
For example : Memoirs of a Geisha. I read that book like a year before the movie came out and although the movie was good, I still preffered the book.
I love games as well! I've played : Ragnarok, Ran Online, MapleStory, Final Fantasy 7,8,9 , Need for Speed(many types of Need for Speed), AuditionSea, o2jam. I've also tried Counter Strike and Dota before. Don't really like Dota. I find it quite boring. =/
And mind you, I'm not just an average player ok. I'm actually quite pro in all those games that I've played, seriously. hahaha. :)
BUT, sadly, I don't play online games anymore these days. Lost the interest.
Okay, I think it's enough of nerd-ish/geeky talk. I'm probably scaring you people off. heh.

*random*Picture of me before going out! (Yoga pants are super comfy)
Mother took a day off today so I hung out with my parents and sister. :)
Bought : Prison break season 1 for Rm50 only!
Because someone told me it's sooo exciting and nice I decided to give it a try. I always thought it was boring though. Shall update on what I think about the show once I've completed the season. It comprises of 6 cd's though. Gonna take awhile for me to finish.
The dude at the cd shop was just too nice, threw in another free dvd of my choice as well when I bought Prison Break. (so that's like 7 dvd's for Rm50!) *big smiles*
I've also bought 2 new novels (p.s. I love you and Cathy's Key) and ordered 2 novels (Eclipse and Breaking Dawn) from MPH. yeay!
=)))
Btw, listening to the song Summertime really lifts my mood. Makes me cheery and happy. Is it just me or is it the song? What does it make you all feel? ;)
