8th Day [5th Dec 2008] : ParisVisited: Notre Dame Cathedral, Eiffel Tower, Montmatre CathedralI finally got to visit the Notre Dame Catheral where the "legend" of The hunchback of Notre Dame came from!
I loved that cartoon by Disney. haha
Always made me wonder if it existed..but I found out that..the story was made up in order to save the church as they were going out of funds to keep it running. Nevertheless, it was a good story which made the cathedral famous. =)

Not only that, they supposedly have the crown of thorns worn by Jesus somewhere in the cathedral.

They would only take it out for display on a certain day and a certain time.

I decided to give an offering to the church by giving them some money and lighting a candle.
Another very beautiful and majestic church. =)
Also, I decided to buy a rosary which costs me around RM100.
It sounded cheap in Euro's. -.-
We went for a quick lunch and some shopping and proceeded to...

Yes, you wouldn't have been to Paris if you haven't been to... The Eiffel Tower. ;p

I honestly did not know that it was THAT high.
My parents bought the ticket for the highest floor..
and when the lift just kept rising..I was wondering..
"is it going to stop...now?.........
or now?..........
or now?...........
or NOW??!?!..................."
Seemed like it would never end.
It was kinda scary. Definitely not for those who are afraid of heights because the lifts they used are surrounded by transparent glass, so you could actually look down to see how high you're going. Freaky shit.
But it was fun. haha.

Since we purchased the tickets to the highest floor, we were also entitled to stop at the 2nd highest floor (which was wayyyy lower than the highest floor).
We decided to do a little sightseeing fron the 2nd highest floor before proceeding all the way up.

I was soo happy I actually go to be up there!
I felt on top of the world! Literally!
The wind was so strong up there, but it was MUCH stronger on the highest floor.
I had to hold my hat in place to keep it from flying away.

If you have a balancing problem, the wind on the highest floor could throw you off balance in a snap. I was afraid it'll blow me off the tower. Thank goodness they had those metal fences.
When we were done playing around, we went back down to the second highest floor for a cup of hot chocolate and coffee with waffles.
My dad was all, "mun take a pic of me and mommy drinking coffee in the eiffel tower!"
hahaha.

I love them both so much! =)
Not because they brought me there. I love them because they're the best parents anyone could ever have. ;)

Beneath the Eifftel Tower there was this VERY beautiful garden.
Doesn't it look like a painting??? believe it. It's REAL. =)
By night fall, we headed to the Montmatre Cathedral.

I know it looks like a mosque but it is NOT.
It's a very beautiful church.
Outside the church there was this man acting as a statue. I wanted to see one of those for quite a long time.haha

I went over to take a picture with him and he automatically gave the peace sign..so I'm like..oh..ok.."peace?". Lala-ness I tell you. But it's ok, I'm only doing that once in a blue moon. Not in every freaking picture. heh. :p

The next pose, he was giving the "I want to kiss you" thing. With sounds and all. -.-
He has to be one of the most happiest "statues" around. *laughs*
Oh! and we also saw nuns singing that night! They sounded like angels. I was extremely mesmerized by their collaborative voices. =)
Although I had no idea what they were singing about because it was all in French, one thing's for sure, there were singing for God. And that was all that mattered. ;)
