Malacca Trip [3 May 09]On Friday Yen suggested to go for a trip to Malacca before our classes officially begin (today).
It's been awhile since I went to Malacca so I agreed to go with her.
Left Subang at about 10am+ with Yen+bf+extra baggage (Chan Heng). lol.
The funny thing was..no one really knew the way to Malacca! Weird, I know.
But I feel exceptionally happy with myself because I was able to bring them around although I didn't know the road. Ah, my intuition is always right. hehehe.
Our first stop was at Jonker Street.
Spotted this huge pineapple tart and decided to take a pic with it.

It's edible! I touched it and almost ate it. But I controlled myself.
The weather was SO hot, I had to get an umbrella.
However, instead of the usual umbrella I decided to get those which existed during the OLDEN days. I got it in pink while Yen bought a red one.

Boys lookin'
cute with the girly umbrellas.

And us girls lookin' even cuter. hahahaha
As usual Yen was hungry 24/7..
we decided to go from some chicken ball rice since Malacca's famous for that.
I still have no idea what's so good about the chicken ball rice cause it's just chicken rice..with the rice served in the shape of a ball. -_____-

Balls chicken rice.

Took a walk along the street and we came across this weird looking statue.
I was so excited while we're walking along the street because there were so many antiques!
Was very attracted to this shop which sells hand-made lotus shoes.
But...each pair costs RM95. With the glass casing, it would cost up to RM125.
I was seriously about to go back there to purchase it when I came across a pair of lotus shoes in another antique shop. Will talk more about that later.

After a walk along the street, we reached Stadhuys..the symbol of Malacca.
No Malacca trip would be complete without the picture with the red building. haha.

Doing some weird poses. hahaha.
Realised that there was something wrong with my belt. It was too loose.

Weird posing with the hole. I had no idea what it was called, so I named it The Hole.
We took a group picture with an albino snake as well, but I don't have it in my cam 'cause the dude took it for us and I got it printed.
Stopped by a dessert shop where I ordered durian cendol, and Yen ordered gula Melaka cendol.
We were supposed to SHARE the cendol, but in the end I ate up all the durian cendol because Yen didn't like the smell, Chan Heng was supposedly allergic (but took a few spoon full) while Yen's bf was totally shy.

Discovered a huge ass lollipop in the shop.
I think it would take MONTHS for me to finish a lollipop as huge as that. omg.
By 4pm+ I was pestering them to go back to the shop which sells lotus shoes because they told me that their closing time was at 5.30pm.
On the way back, we stopped by this antique shop.
The grandmothers there were the friendliest grandmothers ever~!
Instead of the RM95 lotus shoes, they were selling it at RM45 (shoes+glass casing).
Although it wasn't handmade..I thought it was worth buying since it would only be placed as a display item. It looked like the RM95 ones to me. Apart from the different design of course. The RM95 ones had more embroidery on it.
Btw, if you don't know what lotus shoes are..it's the name of the shoes girls with binded feet used to wear in China.
I bought a pair in black with red embroidery. :)

Saw this really OLD phone in the grandma's shop and they were so nice to allow us to take a picture with it. Most of the shops there had the "no picture taking" sign.
By the time we went back to our car after circling jonker street, we were perspiring like crazy 'cause the sun was so intense!
The next destination was the Ship Museum.
RM 3 per entry and Chan Heng said "wah so expensive?" hahaha.
There's nothing much in the museum..so I guess we just got our RM3's worth.

The aircond was lovely though!

Almost 90% of my pictures are credited to Chan Heng. haha.
Around the evening, we stopped by Newton for our dinner..and walked around Malacca's Mega Mall for awhile.
Spotted this wide open field so we "lepak-ed" around there 'cause we were kinda tired.

Tired/stoning face. haha.
Left Malacca around 8.45pm+ and jammed all the way back. -.-
By the time I reached home I was so DAMMNN tired.
Class was at 10am today..
I'm still tired but I can't sleep 'cause I'm supposed to do my Market Research presentation soon..gotta prepare. sigh. :(
I almost
FORGOT one IMPORTANT event of the day at Malacca.
CHAN HENG GOT MOLESTED by some baba nonya uncle at a shop along Jonker Street.
Dudes, BEWARE.
Chan Heng got his ass smacked. HAHAHA
