This is a post I planned to write a long time ago but never got the time to do it. :)

I'm sure many of you have heard of Susan Boyle who sang "I Dreamed a Dream by Les Miserables" at 2009's Britain's Got Talent.
Here's the
lyrics:
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high,
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving.
Then I was young and unafraid
When dreams were made and used,
And wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung,
No wine untasted.
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hopes apart
As they turn your dreams to shame.
And still I dream he'll come to me
And we will live our lives together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms
We cannot weather...
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seems
Now life has killed
The dream I dreamed.-------------------------------------
People have been arguing..."is she famous because of the way she look?"
"does she really sound as fantastic as people say she is?"
In my opinion, it
is related to the way she look.
If you take a look at the youtube video
[CLICK] , you'd see that the moment she steps out, alot of people started groaning..rolling their eyes..and..well you know, giving the whole "omg, here we go again. Another superstar wannabe" kinda face.
But..when she started singing, you
know that she is singing sincerely from her heart..she sounded like an angel to me. All her emotions which have been bottled up for so long, just seemed to flow freely from her and this in turn, has touched the hearts of many people from across the world.
The thing is, she was
real.
Real in the sense of appearance and in her actions. Because, let's face it, not everyone looks/acts like the "people" in magazines or tv.
Her approach seemed to connect with alot of people and..well, people loved her for that. There isn't any inferiority complex.
There's this old phrase which has been repeated time and time again.."
Don't judge a book by its cover".
And this certainly shows why we shouldn't. Sometimes a light can shine from the darkest areas and when it does, it shines the brightest.
I know that to certain girls, the appearance is one of the major factor in life.
Some people have asked, "are looks really that important?"
My answer is:
It is partially important because people do judge others based on the appearance before they get to know you. Humans are made that way. However, it is definitely
not the most important.
If I had a choice to choose between two things to have in life : beauty or a wonderful personality, I would choose the latter.
Beauty is something anyone can achieve. Plastic surgery can turn everyone into a "swan", or so to speak. But, personality is something inside of you. It is something special in you which no one else can help you with, apart from yourself.
Have you ever come across some people whom at first you thought "wow, she's so pretty/he's so handsome" but..when you get to know them..and noticed that they've got a rotten personality, your perception would change to.. "she's not that pretty after all/he's not as handsome as I thought he was"?
As far as I know, this has occured to me wayy too many times.
This is why, to me, a person's personality is more important than any other attributes, surpassing the outward appearances.
People I admire aren't famous actors or actresses, but, they are people who served and leaved a legacy. People who have impacted the world.
Which one of them were famous for their looks?
Just to name a few:
Albert Einstein (I'm serious, I was watching his documentary for a few hours the other day on the History Channel),
Evita (she was a strong and determined woman),
Mother Teresa (a person who had so much love and compassion for others).
So here's something for you to ponder upon:)
Looks will definitely fade away someday. When it is gone, who will you become?..
