[The Very-Late Full-Update Post]

Previously I was typing half-heartedly because I was kinda pre-occupied with my show..hahaha. Anyway here's the "real" update. With pictures and everything. =)

Let us rewind the time back to Dec 19 2009 shall we?
Mommy and Daddy had a Christmas Masquerade dinner at their Church (Full Gospel Tabernacle) so they invited my aunts and uncles and of course me and my sister's friends (ok, we were allowed to bring only 1 person. My mom told me to bring Chan Heng specifically) to come along too. My youngest sister brought her bf, cute-boy Chester and my sister brought her girl friend Jia Yin (if I'm not mistaken).

He didn't really want to wear the mask.

and neither did I. But we both held it on for a few minutes just for Photography purposes. haha.

Just thought I should have a decent picture of US before I move on with the post. hehe. =)

The best part about the dinner was probably the roasted PIG and also the fact that my dad won a lucky draw. We don't usually win lucky draws. hahaha.
Back to the roasted pig: It was super delicious. They actually ordered 7 roasted pig. And my, those pigs were HUGE. They had so much, my dad was contemplating on tar-pauing it back home. lol!

After the dinner, me, dear, youngest sis (Andrea) and Chester headed off to Desa City Park to chill. Second sis didn't come along because we had a small argument that day. Shall bring her next time. -.-

The small cute couple. =)
I feel like their mother when I'm out with them though. At times I'd be their chaperon or the person who drives them to places they can't go on their own.

"come back early"
"be careful ok"
"Chester take care of my sister"
etc etc. I feel so naggy but it's like this whole elder sister-thingie just kicks in, I have no idea what's happening. haha. BUT, I'm not a fun ruiner okay. I know how sucky that would be. I'm the one who brings them out to fun places to build wonderful memories in their blooming relationship. ;)

I felt like a kid again in the Park because me and dear were playing around in swings and stuff like that. Chester pushed the swing for us. I don't think it's considered Child labour? haha

I really like this pic. =)

And although this pic is kinda blur, I kinda like it too. haha.
Had such a fun time that night. =)

[25Dec-27Dec '09]

Next, here are some of the pictures I took in Cameron Highlands. As usual I don't take enough pictures of people and tend to take the surroundings because I'm just lazy and I'm too used to relying on other people's camera. For example, if Annie was around I'd rely on her to take pictures. If Yen's around she'd be the camerawoman and it goes on like that. haha. I'm a bum when it comes to taking pictures these days. Sigh. What happened to my camwhore mojo?! ;p

We took the bus up to Cameron Highlands and my bf was getting all woozy because of the winding road. I on the other hand felt normal because I'm-not-weak. hahaha =D
When we arrived at Tanah Rata, a van from Bala's Chalet came to pick us from the bus station to the Chalet.

Here are some of the pictures of Bala's Chalet! The place is just so green and beautiful. I fell in love with it the moment I saw the pictures online. At first I was crossing my fingers, hoping that it wouldn't turn out to be alot worse than pictures because you know, it happens. Pictures can lie. But... it turned out to be even better. I'm entranced. I read reviews about the bad service in Bala's Chalet. However, I find them pretty helpful with everything. I absolutely enjoyed my stay there and would highly recommend anyone who's going to Cameron to book a room in Bala's Chalet.

The brown door at the end leads to a floor of rooms upstairs. That's where we stayed. There's another flight of stairs on the left side of the chalet where is leads to chalets higher up. I suppose those chalets were more expensive. haha. Btw, all the pictures on this post are taken on the right side of the chalet where I spent most of my time.

They didn't allow photography indoors. So I couldn't take pictures of the lobby and the restaurant. But I must say, the restaurant's setting looks spectacular. Their Christmas dinner costs a whopping RM250. It was a 5 course dinner which was obviously too expensive for me.
So, for our Christmas dinner, we went to the Vintage Cafe at Tanah Rata instead. The restaurant was very cozy (just how I like it) and obviously the food was superbly delicious. Yuumm =)

This is the tea area.

The same tea area but taken from another perspective.

The view outside the window. Doesn't it look like the whole peter pan-fly-out-the-window thing???

I have no idea where does that flight of stairs leads to. The store maybe?

Homely and cozy rooms. Btw the pic on the top isn't the room I stayed in. Randomly snapped the picture of the room above because it was just packed and the door was left open. hahaha. That room was on the same floor as us. I think all the rooms in Bala's Chalet has this whole home-ly cotagge-y victorian-y feeling about it. Makes you feel as though you've time traveled to the past. ;p

The next day (26th Dec) we went exploringggg.
Okay, not really exploring, we just went to the usual hotspots. haha. Headed off to Brinchang by taxi and went to the Strawberry Farm.

Although I've been to the Strawberry Farm a couple of times, I had no recollection on how it looks like because it's been THAT long since I went back there. It was like a whole new experience all over again. I like that. haha.

The whole place sold cactus-es at a really cheap price! So, me and dear decided to buy a dozen of the miniature cactus. lol. It was only RM10 for 6 by the way.

Weird looking cactus. -.-

I was so excited when I saw the grapes hanging from the vines, I was like "OMG look! I didn't know there's grapes up there!!"
Sigh, I think I get excited over the slightest things too easily.
Chill Regina, chiilllll. lol.

Just felt like positing a picture of Strawberries since that's what Cameron Highlands is all about. haha.

The 2nd night we ate Steamboat..and let me tell you this. Their clear soup tasted like salt water. Their soya sauce tasted like salt + soya. It was SO salty even I the person who really likes salt couldn't take it. Ended up eating from only the tom yum side. Thank goodness the tom yum was good. =/

Overall, Christmas this year has been an awesome one. I got to celebrate it with my family and my darling. I feel so blessed. =)

In a few more hours, it would be a whole new year.
I wonder what's in store?
At the mean time,

HAPPY NEW YEAR

May 2010 be a year of overflowing prosperity, bountiful opportunities, never ending joy and a fountain of blessings to everyone. Begin the year with a  positive attitude and you will find that it will lead to that direction!
It's out with the old and in with the new y'all. ;)

P.S.: BBQ tonight! yayyy!!! Will update about that tomorrow. =)

Time Management?

It's been so long since I had the time to sit down and type a proper post! Haven't go the time...
I've been going to Bangsar Shopping Center for about a week+ for my field visit at Khiel's.
Btw, Khiel's is a really good skin care brand! It has a really strong pharmaceutical background and it uses most natural ingredients. It's a bit pricy though. It's new in Malaysia. So if you girls/guys need some skin care regimen I suggest you people to head out to any of the Khiel's boutique. As far as I know there's Khiel's in Bangsar Shopping Center, Midvalley, 1 Utama and The Pavilion. =)

While at BSC, I got to meet lots of fun people. One of them happens to be Zhi Yun's school mate! Her name's Michele. She and Zhi Yun are so alike! They're both super nice girls. They're really sooo nice there's no possible way that anyone can not-like them the moment you meet them. =)
Last week I was transfered to Midvalley and got to work together with a fellow colleague of mine..Ashley. =) After the Christmas event, the both of us had nothing else better to do, so, we're just kinda stoning at the boutique everyday. lol.
Shall be working till this 31st then I'll be back to the office! woohoo!

Btw, I had an awesome Christmas this year!
Finally went to Cameron Highlands after so many many years. The one thing I missed the most about Cameron was the super duper delicious scones and the galaxy of stars. haha.
What I didn't remember was the never-ending winding road up..
Spent the 3 days relaxing...just getting away from the "city life". I felt really chilled and wished I could stay for a longer time. Sigh. =(
Btw, it's highly recommended to stay in Bala's Chalet if you're ever going to Cameron Highlands. Despite the "reviews" I read about the bad service and all, it turned out pretty well. The rooms were well up kept and the people were helpful. I loved my stay there. =)

P.s.: I love you so much dear! Thanks for making me so happy. =)

(was writing this post while watching Edward Scissorhands. It's an awesome movie! So please excuse the grammatical errors, spelling errors if there's any. I'm too lazy to correct them)

While conducting my field visit at the Khiel's boutique, I noticed a board filled with what I remembered as "Polaroid pictures". You know, pictures that comes out of the camera instantly the moment you snap it? I remembered how fun it was to play around with the camera. Ahh...Nostalgia. So...it gave me an idea. I thought of getting a polaroid camera. It's really difficult to find it these days in the normal camera shops though. And from what I've observed, the new "polaroid" cams are now known as Instax Minis made by FujiFilm. The price ranges from Rm230-260. Quite reasonable I would say. The only downfall is the price of the films. They're quite pricy but I guess that's the price you gotta pay for trying to go beyond the norm of digital cameras where you can snap endless amount of pictures and then proceed to scan through it in your computers. lol. Cameras like these makes you appreciate pictures more. It's kinda like "one shot, that's all you've got so don't waste it" kinda thing. :p

I miss the old fashion way of keeping pictures in albums.

Wait for me instax cam! you'll be mineeeee soon!! haha. =D

Update: ok, just checked, the price of the film is RM23.50 per 10pc pack. woot. I still want it!

1st day of Work! (again)

So yesterday was my official first-day at Loreal. Woot!
I felt like a kid who's won a golden ticket to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. *teary eyed*
And for those of you who are wondering...YES, I've quited my job in Mont Blanc and I merely worked there for about 2 weeks+. Was there from 23rd Nov - 11 Dec. Here's the super long winded story.

I got to know about Loreal's vacancy for "Management Trainees" from Emery. There was a day where we all hung out and we were talking about jobs. I was being so dramatically pathetic because I was the only one who hasn't got a job yet. Was going on and on about my poor jobless-self. haha. When I heard about the job opening I was wondering if I should give it a try since..well, you know, there's no harm trying. About 2 days after the day we hung out, I googled "Loreal Management Trainee" and the page was just there. Before I could submit my resume, it was a requirement for us to type a 2000 words max essay explaining why we're suitable for the job. I crapped a few stuff..and I  honestly can't recall what I wrote in there. A day later, the Hr senior exec called. His name is Dan. A phone interview was conducted and he said that if I'm shortlisted I would be called up for a face to face interview. At that point in time, I was thinking "oh damn, I screwed up the phone interview. There goes my chance".

Surprisingly, they did call me back for a face to interview. Went for it, and waited again.
The following week I was called back for an assessment. That was the time I met up with a college mate of mine, Ming Ser. The assessment was really fun. It started with a self description. In the self description section of the assessment, we were required to pick an avatar from the com which represented us and briefly explain why we chose the particular avatar. There were also some individual and group presentations where we were given a box of products. The last part of the assessment was a round-table discussion where we were given a few pages of case study and we had to decide where we would open a new factory in a new country and we had to make our choice of place as convincing as possible. Throughout the whole assessment there were a panel of assessors who would sit around and watch us. I would say it was a pretty long assessment. Was fun nonetheless. =)

The following week after that I got an email by Loreal which says "thank you for participating in the Loreal assessment" yadda yadda. Basically letting me know that I've totally, miserably FAILED. Was kinda down, but decided not to let it bother me too much. At the same time, the next day, Cesarine from Mont Blanc called me up and told me that they were keen on hiring me. I accepted the job without a thought because I didn't want to continue being jobless, plus Mont Blanc was a pretty good brand plus I could see some future with the company. However, just 3 days after I begun in Mont Blanc, Dan from Loreal called me up. He told me that initially the e-mail sent was a mistake and I was invited for a panel interview. -______- I told him, "it's okay..I've already found a job..thanks for calling anyway". After putting down the phone, I breathed a deep breath..started wondering if I made the right decision when all of a sudden he called again. This time, he told me to re-consider. I then told him, I would call him back. Consulted my mom, bf and all, and was encouraged to go for it. So, I scheduled an interview with him the very next day.

At the panel interview, I was asked loads of questions by the head of the departments and the hr director. They were interviewing in pairs. So technically, I went for 2 interviews in a day. Honestly, after the panel interview I didn't know if I could make it because when I told them that I've gotta give a month's notice to Mont Blanc before quitting, the HR director said something like "oh..that's too long..we can't wait that long". Kinda gave up hope again. But, at night, around 7pm+ Mei Kuen called and told me that Loreal would like to hire me as their Management Trainee. I was ecstatic! The only thing I was worried about was my current job at the time. I mean, my manager in Mont Blanc was a very nice lady, she was really nice to me. And I just didn't want to hurt her feelings or anything. So I had to toughen it up to let her know. Initially I thought I would have to pay Mont Blanc a month's pay for an early release so Mei Kuen said they could buy me out of the company if that's the case. But, my ex-manager was nice enough to let me off early and pay me for the days I've been there as well. God bless her soul. She's a wonderful woman.

After all that, I finally stepped foot into Loreal officially as a management trainee yesterday and met up with 3 others who were starting with me as well. They're Ashley, Julian and David. The other 2 girls couldn't make it because they were away for their graduation. I've met them though, at the hospital while I was going for the medical check up for Loreal. =)

Yesterday, the whole "Plan" for next year have been laid out for us. I'm really impressed with everything they did so far. We had super fun games, they treated us lunch, briefed us through their product portfolio, history, mission, etc. Plus, we got to hear from some of the previous management trainees. All of them said that it would be a tough ride but at the end of the day, it would be fruitful. They said that the most important thing was Perseverance. Not only that, we got to hear from the Loreal Malaysia's MD as well.

Did you know that Loreal's Managing Director, GM, Brand Managers were mostly Managment Trainees by Loreal themselves? And despite the economy downturn the company was able to generate more revenues?
I'm amazed.

Never in a million years I thought I would be able to end up as 1 of the 6 management trainees selected. I'm blessed, truly.

This is where my career path truly begins I suppose. =)

People have so many comments for EVERYTHING

.....and that includes what you do in FACEBOOK. Yep. The most happening social NETWORKING site in this era. Since people love asking me about MY Facebook, I'm just gonna answer it once and for all. And if I ever get such questions again, I'm just gonna ask them to refer to this post right here.

I don't know why do people even bother about the NUMBER of friends in someone else's list. I mean, is it a matter of life and death or something? I just don't get it.
Do people check my facebook just to see the amount of friends I have???
That's just dumb.
I hate it when people ask me:

  1. How come you have so many friends on your facebook ah?
  2. WAhhhhh 5000 friends, really???
  3. You accept everyone??
  4. For what you have so many friends of facebook? do you even know them?
  5. Where did you get 5000 friends?
I wonder how do people come up with various types of questions to the SAME question sometimes. It's amazingly-annoyingly repetitive.

I've heard many people talking about other people who happen to accept load of requests on facebook.
These people are labeled as:
  1. Desperate for friends
  2. Desperate to be famous
  3. Plain Desperate
Yes, the word most used is none other than DESPERATE.
I respect people who only allow people they know in their facebook because they post shit loads of personal stuff in it. But hey, to me facebook is just another public site. In fact, I believe a BLOG is more private than some stupid networking site because people BLOG about everything. Where they go, what they eat, what they're doing, what they're THINKING and shit like that. Not only that, blogs have pictures too. In fact, most of the time, I blog before I even post any pictures in Facebook.
So don't come around telling me that "oh in Facebook there's pictures of yourself, people can see how you look like". Bull-crap. I don't post my address/my msn add/my phone number, etc there.

Here's the million dollar question: It's a norm for a lot of people to blog about their life publicly (Check Nuffnang for various life-infused blogs!) but it's wrong to accept friends in a NETWORKING site? oh okay, ooo...that's soooo logical.

C'mon, people. It's just a friggin number.

Oh, btw, this is my answer to the questions above:
Why do I randomly accept friends?
Well, I tend to forget my acquaintances. I could've met someone at a job somewhere, some dinner, some party, some friends of friends etc. and I might just forget them. So, if I really do wanna start rejecting friend requests I will most definitely reject these people too. I'm so bad at remembering people, I can't even remember some of the people who were in my class! I tend to filter people from my memory. I might be able to recognise their faces after sometime but I wouldn't remember their names. The only people I do keep in mind are those who have made an impact in my life or those who have been close to me or those I've seen alot, etc. Furthermore, I'm too lazy to check for mutual friends. And since, it's a NETWORKING site, WHY NOT?
Here's the meaning of "networking" from the dictionary : the act of working using computer network; the act of connecting computers into network; the act of meeting new people in a business or social context

Although I don't exactly talk to the people on FB, I don't think accepting them as a friend would be that wrong because personally, I don't care who's in or who's not in my FB list 'cause I don't check anyway. It. Does. Not. Matter.

You wanna know how I keep in touch with my real friends? Through the PHONE or sometimes through MSN. So there. You won't see me going around dropping comments on everyone's page that often. I'd only do so when I see something interesting at the "news feed". I don't use FB to keep in touch with people. Most of the time, it's all about the mindless addictive games. I'm a game junkie.

Plus, I know that when I start rejecting or deleting people, a new claim will arise. There's just no possible way in pleasing people is there?

It's December already?!

Time sure flies when you're working. haha. A few months ago, while I was "busy" lazing around at home, life seemed to moved at a much slower pace. Now, I kinda forgot how it felt like to just laze around like that, and it's only the first month of work!
Doesn't mean that I don't like working though. The thing is, I do like working. It's fun. Plus, I choose to ignore all negative perceptions of working. ;)

Recently I seem to be injuring myself a lot.
It's either I'm just not bothered about myself, or that I'm the no.1 Klutz. I think it's the mixture of both.Sigh.

At Tambun, I knocked my toe and got my toe-nail chipped off. It bled and 'till know I have to put a plaster on it 'cause if I don't I can't wear my shoes properly. It's painful when the broken nail accidentally gets caught on something.Dammit.

2 days ago, I got myself 2 paper cuts on the same finger. Both of it was on the left middle finger. Fantastic.
Then, while I was walking down some steps at the car park, I tripped and fell and scraped my knees 'causing a hole in my black slacks. Not only that, YESTERDAY, I got another cut. This time I'm not sure from what, but it's on my right middle finger. Still hurts abit.

When  I told my sis I fell at the car park, she laughed-out-loud and said "Didn't you feel EMBARASSED?!"

My answer : No.
You know why?
'Cause I fall all the time. I don't only fall while I'm wearing heels, I am also capable of tripping over nothing while I'm wearing slippers...in public. After a few times, I kinda gotten used to it and have developed a thick face. Learned the art of "falling and pretending nothing happened". =))
