A weekday out! (FINALLY)

Took a full day leave on May 14 because I just needed a break. Plus, I had tickets to West Side Story at 8.30pm. Wanted to reach KL earlier in order to avoid the jam and to get a good parking slot at Istana Budaya. Just so you know, Istana Budaya is super packed most of the time. I never knew Malaysians were such theater enthusiasts! (Ok lah, who am I kidding, there were quite alot of ang mohs and tourists there as well. Not just Malaysians. lol.)

When we reached KL..it started to drizzle a little...and we reached too early. The show was set to start at 8.30pm, but we were at KL by 3pm+. Was driving slowly while thinking where to go when I spotted...MUSEUM NEGARA. It's been dino years since I last stepped into that museum and my memories of that place was...dirty, smelly, shitty items put together for a pathetic display of the Malaysian so-called "history". I used to be appalled of that place. And it was always the butt of all the "museum jokes".
(I'm very lame, I make lame jokes all the time and expect people to laugh ok? Thank God my bf can stand my.....dry humour)

Anyhoo, decided to turn in to the National Museum since it was already there and we had no where else to go. Plus, it's quite near to the Istana Budaya. Might as well..

From the drizzle, it turned to a heavy downpour..and that's when..

I asked him to take pictures with me. To wait for the rain to be less heavy you know? hahaha.

I really love my volume perm. Thanks Richard Kim!
=)
Btw, he's really good, he even offered another free hair treatment a week after the perm. Will make and appointment with him soon.
Oh yea, I think I would like to try Hair Coating. Apparently, Korean girls does hair coating once every month...which explains their healthy, shiny hair. It's different from hair treatment, fyi.

whoops, sidetracked.
What got my interest to go to the museum was actually the coffin exhibition.
It's all about the burial rituals from various tribes and races..
Don't tell me you won't even feel a tinge of excitement?
I get very excited when I've got the opportunity to learn anything that has to do with history.

Ok, maybe this looks like the high-school open-day ghost house. But trust me, the exhibition itself is pretty good...or maybe it's just that my expectation for our museum was just too low. lol

I found this quite disturbing..they tie corpse into a fetal position..and bury the dead just like that.
Sample of bones below.

THIS on the other hand was just plain freaky!
I believe, it was just me and my bf in the exhibition, I would be scared.

Corpse in a carriage casket..

the GOLDEN casket..for the rich and famous who dies.

This is another freaky way of burial. Looks like some kinda ancient wedding ceremony where the bride sits in and waits to be transported to the groom's place..except..that's a corpse.

Us in the coffin exhibition. As you can see, it's quite dark in there.

Price for Coffin exhibition : RM2 per adult. Blardie cheap. Better go there and expand your knowledge than wasting RM9-12 on a movie where you can get the pirated dvd anyway. Haha!

After the coffin exhibition, we headed over to the permanent exhibition which was also priced at RM2 per adult. Got a shock of my life when I noticed that EVERYTHING has changed.
Repented my museum jokes.
In fact, I would say it's reaching an international level now!
The galleries are separated into 4.. and some of 'em even had holograms.
Nice :)
That's me, pointing at a skull.

That's my bf. He's the best-est. Was willing to carry my bag because it was heavy. Aw. :)

This is the Malacca section. They re-created the fort inside.

I just had to take a picture of this bicycle. This is how Malaysians got it from Japan. They cycled from Thailand. woot, that rhymes.
I can be rapper now. (another lame joke)

After the whole museum exhibition, we headed over to The Pavilion for dinner (because it was nearby and on the way to Istana Budaya as well)
When we reached Istana Budaya, it was still quite early..and we got a wonderful parking lot! yay!
Thanks mommy and daddy. The best parents ever :)

That's him, getting all excited for the musical. hahaha

And he wanted to sneak in before the show started :p

That's me, waiting patiently for the show to start.. lol

And, that's us at the seat. :)
Basically, the hall itself reminded me of the opera house in Phantom of the Opera. It was amazing. That's probably the closest Malaysians can get to having an opera house. So yeah.
It was my first time watching a broadway musical and it literally blew my mind away.
The performers were so enthusiastic and you could really feel the passion from the way they act and sing.
I especially loved the scenes where all of them are singing in a big group.
The dances were very synchronized too.... Beautiful. :)

All in all, it was a wonderful day!

Mommy's Day :)

To the Empress of the my heart!
My mom has got to be the greatest and most amazing mom!
She's truly a wonder woman. I don't know how she does it, but she seems to always have the strength to "work" at home although she also has a full time job.
Although she holds a high position, she always have time for family.
I admire her and I aspire to be just like her. :)

To keep it simple and sweet,
I just want to say,
I LOVE YOU MOMMY

always and forever.

Your baby,
Mun Mun.

Korean Volume Perm
@
Park Chul Hair Salon

Saw the advertisement on Park Cheul and decided to try out the "Korean Volume Perm". Was wondering what's the difference of the Korean perm compared to the normal digital perm and so..yeah, decided to take the risk. haha
Bf was kind enough to go with me...
(ok, I actually kinda forced him, BUT he was willing)
he had FREE orange juice while waiting!=Pp

The way they did the perm was definitely not the usual way Malaysian stylists do it. I've done perming twice and both didn't turn out the way I wanted it to be.
Was totally crossing my fingers and hoping that this Korean perm would be the answer to it all. (sounds so dramatic)

Anyway, the stylist was obviously a korean guy.
And he had 2 female helpers who were the most friendly people. =)
The machine they used was cute. There was a Korean sounding voice before the machine started. Sounded like some arcade game. lol.

While waiting for the machine to do its "thing", the ladies gave me hand massage! As you can see, I was overjoyed.

He was too bored, he decided to camwhore with my phone. LOL

Anyway, here's the outcome. Love it. :)

Will be going back there to dye my hair probably around next month or so :)

I know that if I don't update, I'm never gonna update.
I'm starting to really wonder..was I really THAT free to be able to update constantly everyday in the past? haha.
Anyway, picture was taken in the office.
Just realised that I could MMS by bf for free, so we're like totally abusing the MMS function by sending tons of pictures everyday.

I would recommend couples to switch to digi and use the family plan because its DIRT cheap compared to the usual rates. SMS and MMS and CALLS are abolutely FREEEEE!!

Becoming aunty already, I'm starting like free stuff. omg.
Oh no.
